Forum, Working Towards Sustainable Materials Management and a Circular Economy in the Copper Country
Jonathon Nagel, executive director of the Copper Country Recycling Initiative, will introduce the principles of sustainable materials management, helping participants understand how the products and resources we use every day are part of a much larger system. We will discuss efforts across the Copper County to support sustainable materials management and promote circular economies. A circular economy is an economic model that aims to eliminate waste and promote sustainability through reuse and resource efficiency.
By shifting perspectives and adopting a more mindful approach, individuals can take steps towards living more sustainably and contributing to a healthier, more resilient future.
Nagel previously worked in municipal planning for the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, where he focused on sustainable materials management, environmental policy and green building. He is a graduate of Colorado State University, where he majored in political science, with minors in development and business. Today he focuses on the restoration of historic buildings and volunteers his time to improve the world around him.
