KUUF Lifespan Faith Development Program offers classes and small group activities to deepen our understanding of our faith and enable us to explore, reflect and learn in a nurturing spiritual community.  Our program provides age appropriate religious education (RE) for children and adults.

Religious education is designed to inspire ethical, social and spiritual growth.

  • Ethical growth – internalizing enduring values like justice, equity, and compassion, and gaining tools to act on them in everyday life.
  • Social growth – connecting with peers and people of all ages on a deeper level.  Finding acceptance among people who see beyond the superficial.
  • Spiritual growth – feeling a connection with the sacred within, among, and beyond us.

Religious education includes more than classes.  Many programs incorporate social justice activities, worship opportunities, service trips, fellowship and fun.

Childcare is provided during Sunday services.  Family and child centered events that teach UU values through fun learning experiences are offered several times a year.

Adult RE is scheduled at other convenient times.  Our current list of Adult RE opportunities includes:

Friday Video Series: Most Friday mornings, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, a group gathers at the KUUF office in Trinity Episcopal Church to view DVD lectures and discuss them over a brown bag lunch.  The DVD lectures come from sources such as the Great Courses and feature a wide range of topics related to the spiritual journey.  The present subject is a comparative examination of the lives and impacts of Confucius, the Buddha, Jesus and Mohammed.  Two presentations, each about a half hour in length, are viewed, with discussion and lunch in between the first and second presentation.  As is to be expected with UUs, the discussion often starts on-topic and then ranges widely.

Women’s Group: The KUUF Women’s Group meets on the second Thursday of each month in the home of one of the participants.  Meetings begin at 5:15pm. The group provides members with a safe nonjudgmental space to share, listen, and learn from each other’s experiences.

Men’s Group  The KUUF Men’s Group meets once a month in the home of one of the participants.  The group provides members with a safe nonjudgmental space to share, listen, and learn from each other’s experiences

Gratitude Class:  This on-going group explores topics related to gratitude including; the power of gratitude, practices to help people connect to gratitude and effective ways to express gratitude.
