Forum, Author Allyson Tyra Explores Women’s Role in History
Historian Allison Tyra will share her book Uncredited: Women’s Overlooked, Misattributed, and Stolen Work.
Tyra will explore the complicated question: ‘Since we know women are as good as men, why haven’t we heard of more women?’ From contributions being ignored, to work being outright stolen, she’ll dig into issues of bias, privilege and more to help untangle the causes and effects of these factors.
Allison Tyra has a BA in journalism. She is the creator of the Infinite Women project www.infinite-women.com which includes a database with more than 10,000 biographies, a weekly podcast and short-form videos on YouTube. Her books come from her broad view of women’s history.
She wrote Uncredited: Women’s Overlooked, Misattributed, and Stolen Work (2025) and The View from the Hill: Women Who Made Their Mark After 40 (2026). Each bring together hundreds of stories from around the world, throughout history and across different fields to challenge entrenched perceptions about women, their work and their abilities.
