As we pass the one-year mark of the insurrection at our nation’s capital, many of us are still processing the event in our personal and civic lives. hat were your thoughts as January 6, 2021 unfolded? How has it affected your convictions in the year since? While there is no simplistic explanation for what happened, nor a singular path forward at this point in time, the presence of Christian Nationalistic sentiment in the movement leading to the insurrection is evident and clear. In these next two weeks, we’ll explore the research on Christian Nationalism of Andrew Whitehead and Samuel Perry, as presented in their volume, Taking America Back for God (Oxford, 2020), and ask with one another, in all humility: How are we personally and civically called to move forward?
