 Small Group Ministries at KUUF

Often associated with large congregations, small group ministries bring congregation members in close relationship with one another.  KUUF is not a really large congregation and yet there are several small group ministries thriving.  We’ll talk about how this is working and what it can mean for all of us.

Henry Thacker Burleigh

Sandra and Alex will focus on the music of Henry “Harry” Thacker Burleigh, composer, arranger, and vocalist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.  Burleigh (1866-1949), was the first to publish African American spirituals as mainstream concert pieces for solo voice and piano.

How Shall We Grow: It’s More Than Numbers

When we speak of growth in small UU churches, we usually think of growing our numbers: whether more attendees, new members, or kids in RE.  There are many other ways to grow institutionally, maturationally, incarnationally.  The saying is true, “if you build it, they’ll come.”  We need to grow ourselves and our congregations before we attract new members.  What is the glowing coal at the heart of our congregation, of our Unitarian Universalist movement?  How do we build the Beloved Community?  Come hear some thoughts on all these ideas.  Just what does “incarnationally” mean, anyway?!

Who Are We?

Who is KUUF and how do we fit in the larger Unitarian Universalist movement? In this service, Rev. Chris and Will Cantrell will examine our identity, both historically and currently, and ask the question, “Who does KUUF want to be?”
