The Green Sanctuary, Our Environmental Action Program

Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship’s vision is a world with justice for humanity and the whole web of life including present and future generations.  Together we can create a world in which all people make reverence, gratitude, and care for the living earth central to our lives.  We have established numerous action programs to provide opportunities for our members to focus on this vision:

  •  The Sustainability Film Series, a public event now in its 10th year
  •   Forums and Green Tours on Green Living
  •   Environmental book Group,
  •   Carbon Offset program
  •   Adopt a Highway in its 26th year
  •   Monthly outings,”GetUU Out!”
  •   Work with Habitat for Humanity
  •   Postcard Sunday
  •   Local Food potlucks
  •   “Dare to Share” program of collaborative consumption- Grandparents Closet
  •   Reintroduction of American Chestnut tree
  •   Environmental activities for Kids RE program
  •   Gardening programs
  •   Partnerships with community recycling,    environmental, and education groups
