Religious Education Coordinator
Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (KUUF) seeks a Religious Education Coordinator for 3 to 4 hours per week to coordinate its children and youth religious education program. The religious educator will prep and teach curriculum to an assigned class on Sunday mornings and recruit volunteers using the congregation’s Safe Congregation Policy. Decisions about the curriculum are made collaboratively between the minister, religious education committee, and the religious education coordinator.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent; a valid driver’s license; the ability to create lessons from existing curricula; the ability to adapt lessons based on the needs of students in assigned class; be self-motivated and enthusiastic; an ability to work with a variety of people from different backgrounds; familiarity with child development models and ability to adapt lessons to a variety of different ages and neurodiversities; the ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team; and regular access to email and phone. Experience teaching students of a variety of different ages, CPR and first aid training, and a knowledge of Unitarian Universalism are also desirable.
